By Hon. Isiaka Olajide Ambali (Kẹta)
The future of Kwara State requires purposeful leadership, experience, fresh ideas and a clear vision for sustainable development. As our state approaches another important political chapter, we must reflect on the kind of leadership that can strengthen institutions, improve lives and create opportunities for all.

Leadership is not merely about occupying public office; it is about understanding the needs of the people, making responsible decisions and delivering meaningful results.
SYD: EXPERIENCE AND LEGISLATIVE LEADERSHIP
The political and legislative journey of Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu (SYD) deserves attention in conversations about Kwara’s future.

Since entering the Kwara State House of Assembly in 2019, SYD has gained experience in lawmaking, legislative oversight and parliamentary administration. His position as Speaker has also exposed him to institutional leadership, consultation and cooperation among elected representatives.
His engineering background further provides a professional perspective on infrastructure, development planning and practical approaches to societal challenges.
These experiences offer an important basis for discussing the value of legislative knowledge and youthful leadership in shaping the future of our state.
BUILDING ON AA’S DEVELOPMENT LEGACY
Any meaningful discussion about Kwara’s future must acknowledge the development efforts under the administration of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON.
Since 2019, the APC led government has pursued interventions in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and economic development.
Road construction and rehabilitation, urban renewal, school improvements, teacher recruitment, the KwaraLEARN initiative and investments in primary healthcare are among the areas that have received attention.
While recognising these efforts, governance remains a continuous responsibility. Existing projects must be sustained, outstanding challenges addressed and new opportunities created for communities across the state.
The next chapter should build on meaningful achievements while strengthening accountability and improving public services.
YOUTHFUL LEADERSHIP AND THE FUTURE
Young people are central to Kwara’s development. Their contributions are essential in education, technology, agriculture, entrepreneurship, innovation and economic growth.
They deserve more than political mobilisation; they deserve opportunities to participate in governance, acquire relevant skills and contribute meaningfully to policy discussions.
A progressive leadership approach must combine youthful energy and fresh ideas with experience, discipline and institutional knowledge.
The conversation surrounding SYD provides an opportunity to reflect on how these qualities can contribute to the aspirations of our people.
PRIORITIES FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER
As we look towards the future, certain areas deserve sustained attention:
- Infrastructure: Better roads, drainage, electricity and public facilities.
- Education: Improved learning environments, teacher development and digital literacy.
- Healthcare: Accessible and affordable healthcare services with adequately equipped facilities.
- Youth and Women Empowerment: Employment opportunities, vocational training and support for entrepreneurship.
- Agriculture: Support for farmers, modern farming practices and improved market access.
- Grassroots Development: Greater attention to the needs of communities across all local government areas.
- Good Governance: Transparency, accountability and responsible management of public resources.
The success of leadership should ultimately be measured by its positive impact on the lives of the people.
UNITY, CONTINUITY AND A SHARED VISION
Kwara belongs to all of us. Its development requires cooperation among political leaders, traditional institutions, youths, women, professionals and other stakeholders.
Political differences should never become reasons for hostility or division. Instead, our politics should encourage constructive engagement, accountability and a shared commitment to progress.
The development journey under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq provides a foundation upon which future administrations and leaders can build.
MY POSITION: THE FUTURE MUST BE ABOUT THE PEOPLE
As Hon. Isiaka Olajide Ambali (Kẹta), I believe that Kwara’s future must be built on purposeful leadership, experience, youth inclusion and a genuine commitment to public service.
Our people deserve leaders who understand their expectations, value strong institutions and are prepared to work towards sustainable solutions to our developmental challenges.
The discussion surrounding SYD’s legislative experience and leadership journey is part of a wider conversation about the next chapter of Kwara State. Equally, AA’s governance experience remains relevant to discussions about continuity and institutional development.
Kwara deserves leadership that builds on experience, embraces fresh ideas and delivers meaningful results.
Let us continue to promote unity, encourage responsible political participation and place the collective interest of our state above personal and political differences.
KWARA APC — ÌWÁJÚ LÁN LỌ!
FORWARD EVER!
