Kwara South caucus of Kwara State House of Assembly, including Kwara South Local Government Chairmen, and members of the Equity/Advocates Committee, on Wednesday organized a special prayer session in support of the governorship candidacy of the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi (SYD), ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election.
The prayer session, hosted at the lodge of the Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ojo Olayiwola brought together notable political leaders and stakeholders from across the Kwara South district.
The attendance includes Rt. Hon. Ojo Olayiwola, Deputy Speaker (Oke Ogun Constituency); Hon. Ganiyu Abolarin (Chief Whip, Ekiti Constituency); Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi (Ojomu/Balogun Constituency); Hon. Rasaq Omotosho (Isin Constituency), Hon. Joseph Bamgboye (Oke-Ero Constituency), Hon Gbenga Yussuf (Eesa Shawo Igbodun Constituency); Hon. AGF Salahuddeen (Omupo Constituency); Hon Musa Yusuf Atoyebi (Odo Ogun Constituency); also in attendance are the local government chairmen from Isin, Ekiti, Irepodun, Ifelodun, Offa, Oyun, and Oke Ero.

Speaking during the event, Rt. Hon. Ojo Olayiwola expressed gratitude to Almighty God and commended the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, for his commitment to fairness, justice, and equity in governance. He also applauded members of the Equity/Advocates Committee for their unwavering dedication and efforts in promoting the cause of equity within the state.
The Deputy Speaker urged stakeholders to remain united and steadfast in their support for Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, expressing confidence in his capacity to lead Kwara State to greater heights comes 2027.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Equity/Advocates Committee, Alhaji Ibrahim Lawal, praised Governor AbdulRazaq for his belief in equity and inclusiveness He reaffirmed the committee’s commitment and continued support for the emergence of Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate and eventual governor of Kwara State in 2027.
The prayer session featured both Christian and Muslim prayers for the success of the aspiration and for peace, unity, and progress in Kwara State. The Christian prayers were led by Rev. Pastor Clement Adewole, while the Muslim prayers were led by Alhaji Isiaq Aduagba, the Chief Imam of Alore.
The event underscored the growing support for Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi across Kwara South and the collective desire of stakeholders to ensure the sustenance of equity, fairness, and inclusive governance in the state.
