Veteran Nollywood actress, Bukky Wright, has defended women who make financial demands in relationships, saying they should not feel ashamed of having high standards or being labelled “gold diggers.”
Speaking on a recent episode of The Morayo Show, Wright criticised what she described as the hypocrisy of some men who shame women for expecting financial stability from their partners.
According to the actress, there is nothing wrong with being called a “gold digger.”
She encouraged women not to lower their standards and urged men to pursue relationships with women whose expectations they can meet.

“I hate it when I hear men calling women Gold diggers. What do you expect her to dig before? I won’t advise any woman to dig anything less than gold.
“If you can not afford a woman, don’t go for it. Go for the one you can afford,” she said.
Reflecting on her younger years, Wright explained that many women preferred dating older men because they were more financially established than their peers.
“I remember when I was growing up, we would not date our age mates because what can you offer?
“As a man, if you are dating somebody that her level is higher up, then you are in trouble. That is why I said cut your clothes according to your materials,” the actress added.
