The management of the University of Offa (UNIOFFA) in Kwara State has announced its Maiden Convocation Ceremony, scheduled to hold from Wednesday, October 7, to Monday, October 12, 2026, at the university premises and designated venues across Offa.
The announcement was made in an official statement signed by the Head of the Media and Public Relations Unit, Mr. Taofik Adekunle Jimoh, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kazeem Alagbe Gbolagade, the Founder, Governing Council, Senate, Management, and Students of the institution.
According to the university management, the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour for the historic event, which marks the graduation of the university’s pioneer set of students.

Outlining the week-long programme of events, the Vice-Chancellor noted that the celebration will commence on Wednesday, October 7, with an official Press Briefing at the University Senate Chamber at 10:30 a.m.
Activities will continue on Thursday, October 8, featuring a Counseling and Job Training session at the University Auditorium by 12:00 noon, an Exhibition at the Entrepreneurship Centre by 2:30 p.m., and an Intra-University Sports Competition at the University Field by 4:00 p.m. A Special Juma’at Prayer will hold on Friday, October 9, at the University Central Mosque by 1:30 p.m.
On Sunday, October 11, the institution will host the official launching of the ₦1 Billion UNIOFFA Development Plan at the Avalon Hotel & Suites in Offa by 4:00 p.m., followed immediately by a Special Convocation Dinner and Award Night at the same venue by 5:00 p.m.
The grand finale will take place on Monday, October 12, starting with the Investiture of the University Chancellor at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Convocation Lecture at 10:30 a.m., and the official Award of Degrees and Presentation of Prizes during the Main Convocation Ceremony from 11:30 a.m. at the main university campus.
