The family of late actress Temitope Osoba has appealed to the public to disregard what it described as false and unverified reports circulating about the circumstances surrounding her death.
Tribune Online reports that fellow actor Alesh Sanni announcing her passing in an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday.
In a statement shared via the actress’ official Instagram page on Wednesday, the family expressed sadness over the spread of misinformation, stressing that several claims making the rounds on social media and blogs are speculative and unauthorised.
“At this difficult time, we wish to categorically state that the numerous claims circulating on social media and various blogs regarding the circumstances surrounding her death are false, speculative, and entirely unauthorised,” the statement read.

The family urged members of the public to refrain from sharing or promoting unverified information, saying such reports only deepen the pain of their loss.
“We respectfully urge the public to refrain from sharing or promoting misinformation that only adds to the pain our family is already enduring,” it added.
The statement also appealed for privacy, asking that the family be allowed to mourn without being burdened by rumours and sensational narratives.
According to the family, any information it wishes to make public will be communicated only through its official channels and authorised representatives.
It further urged the media and the public to rely solely on official statements and disregard unverified reports.
The family also expressed gratitude to Nigerians for the prayers, love and support shown during the difficult period.
“We sincerely appreciate the prayers, love, and support that have been extended to our family during this heartbreaking time. Thank you for respecting her memory and our family’s privacy,” the statement concluded.
