Hon. Isiaka Olajide Ambali (Kẹta) has congratulated His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, Governor of Kwara State, on his conferment as the Sardaunan Ilorin by His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, Emir of Ilorin.
In a congratulatory message, Hon. Kẹta described the honour as more than the conferment of a traditional title, noting that it carries a rich history and a profound responsibility of leadership, service, unity and commitment to the people.
He noted that the historical significance of the Sardauna title is further strengthened by the legacy of the late Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardauna of Sokoto and Premier of Northern Nigeria, whose leadership was associated with unity, development and institution-building.
Hon. Kẹta also acknowledged the late Alhaji Umar Saro, a respected businessman and philanthropist, as the first holder of the title of Sardauna of Ilorin, describing Governor AbdulRazaq’s emergence as another significant chapter in the history of the distinguished title.

According to him, the conferment should be regarded not only as recognition but also as a call to greater service, particularly in creating opportunities for young people, supporting education, strengthening communities, improving infrastructure and working towards a better future for the people.
“Leadership is ultimately about the people. This honour should further strengthen His Excellency’s commitment to the peace, progress and development of Kwara State and the Ilorin Emirate,” Hon. Kẹta said.
He commended the Emir of Ilorin for the conferment and for his continued efforts in preserving the history, culture and unity of the Ilorin Emirate. He also extended his respect to traditional rulers, Emirs, Chiefs and titleholders across the Emirate and Kwara State for their continued service to their communities.
Hon. Kẹta prayed that Almighty Allah would grant the Sardaunan Ilorin wisdom, courage, sound health and sincere advisers, while protecting and guiding him in the discharge of his responsibilities.
He further prayed for the continued preservation of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, and asked Allah to bless the Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State with peace, unity, stability, sustainable development and prosperity.
