The long wait is over. Imisi has emerged winner of the 10th season of Big Brother Naija, walking away with the grand prize of N150 million.
The grand finale, held on Sunday night in Lagos and hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, brought an electrifying close to a record-breaking season that featured 29 housemates and two dramatic launch nights.
Imisi, born Opeyemi Ayanwale from Oyo State, stood out from the very first week with her bold personality, fiery clashes, and ability to switch effortlessly between polished English and street lingo. Her confidence and authenticity won over viewers across Africa, eventually making her the fan favourite.
Out of the 29 contestants, 18 were evicted before the final night. Sabrina left due to health issues while Faith was disqualified. For the first time in the show’s history, nine housemates made it to the finale, including Dede, Isabella, Kola, Koyin, Kaybobo, Jason Jae, Mensan, and Sultana.
Performances from music stars Adekunle Gold and Iyanya added more sparkle to the star-studded night before Ebuka began the tense eviction process. One after another, housemates exited until only Imisi and Dede remained. Moments later, Imisi was crowned the ultimate winner to wild cheers from fans.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Imisi said:
“I’m so excited. I never saw myself in the top two. I can’t even express myself. I’m overwhelmed and so happy.”
Her victory marks the end of a landmark decade for the BBNaija franchise, which has grown into Africa’s biggest reality TV show.
Imisi’s N150m win was broadcast live on Africa Magic Showcase and Africa Magic Family, DStv Channel 151 and Gotv 49.
