EKITI LGA APC REMAINS UNSHAKEN, DECAMPEES HAVE LOST VALUE — AMB. ANJORIN BABATUNDE
A leading stalwart and former Chairmanship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, Amb. Anjorin Babatunde, has described the APC in Ekiti LGA as united, unshaken and too formidable to be distracted by political jobbers.
Amb. Anjorin made this known in a statement issued to Veritas News Hub while reacting to the recent wave of defections in the state.
According to him, while the APC continues to receive credible and grassroots politicians from the opposition, those leaving the party are inconsequential and have long lost political relevance.

Amb. Anjorin congratulated all decampees from the minority Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who have decided to join the ruling All Progressives Congress, commending the political elders for making the right decision at the right time.
He specifically lauded Hon. Samuel Bamisaye, one of the strongest PDP stakeholders in Ekiti LGA, and the respectable immediate past State Legal Adviser of the PDP, Barr. Aborisade, for teaming up with the progressive family.
Anjorin noted that over the years, the duo has worked tirelessly to ensure Ekiti LGA gets its fair share of dividends of democracy, and have now come to the full realization that politics is about being part of the process.
“If you are not part of the process, you cannot question the process. They have understood this timeless political wisdom,” he said.
He charged them to remain progressive, committed and focused on the collective goal of taking Ekiti to its peak, assuring them that the APC is a home that values loyalty, capacity and genuine grassroots support.
“THEY ARE WALKING ALONE” — ANJORIN FIRES APC DECAMPEES TO PDP
Reacting to the few individuals who defected from APC to the Peoples Democratic Party, Amb. Anjorin was blunt, stating that they are lightweight politicians who cannot deliver even a Councilor in the politics of today.
Quoting his words: “When leaders are walking or working and the followers refused to join them, then they’re just walking alone.”
He stressed that politics is not about social media noise but about structure, relevance and capacity at the polling unit level — which the decampees lack completely.
Making emphasis on those from Opin Ward, Amb. Anjorin tagged them “Anigba Opin Division” — a group of politically stranded individuals who have lost relevance and political direction.
“These people have lost touch with their base. They are Anigba Opin Division. They have no political value, no structure and no followers. They can’t even bring a Councilor into politics of today. They are just walking alone while leaders are working,” he stated.
Amb. Anjorin Babatunde further urged members and stakeholders of the APC in Ekiti LGA to remain united, indivisible and focused, noting that unity remains the party’s greatest strength.
He declared that the Peoples Democratic Party has no chance of winning any election in Ekiti LGA in 2027, and may have to wait till 2031, if at all they survive.
“Ekiti LGA APC remains unshaken. We are solidly on ground. Our people know the difference between light and darkness, between progress and retrogression. PDP has no chance come 2027, maybe 2031,” he said.
APC HAS LISTENED, EKITI MUST RESPOND WITH MASSIVE VOTES
On the prospects of the party ahead of 2027, Amb. Anjorin assured party faithful and the generality of Ekiti LGA people of abundance of dividends of democracy under the All Progressives Congress.
He disclosed that the APC has heeded to the passionate cries of community leaders, traditional institutions and opinion moulders across Ekiti LGA by zoning the Federal House of Representatives candidacy to the Ekiti Bloc — a long-standing demand of the people.
“The All Progressives Congress has heeded to the cries of community and opinion leaders by zoning the Federal House of Representatives candidacy to Ekiti Bloc. This is a victory for all Ekiti sons and daughters. The party has listened to us,” he noted.
He therefore called on all well-meaning people of Ekiti LGA to come together as one and respond to this gesture with massive votes that will shock minority parties.
“We must value what we requested for and defend it with our votes. We must come out en masse to show that we appreciate this gesture. That is how we will make minority parties understand that Ekiti people know what they want and will defend it with their votes,” Amb. Anjorin concluded.
