Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has unveiled a 23-man squad led by captain William Troost-Ekong for Nigeria’s decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin Republic.
The list, released on Thursday, also includes goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, defenders Bright Osayi-Samuel and Calvin Bassey, midfielders Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi, as well as Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and winger Moses Simon.
Semi Ajayi, who missed September’s international window through injury, returns to the fold. Terem Moffi of OGC Nice and Russia-based Olakunle Olusegun have also been recalled.
Nigeria sit third in Group C, three points behind leaders Benin Republic and one adrift of South Africa. The Super Eagles face Lesotho’s Crocodiles at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane, on Friday, October 10, before hosting table-topping Benin Republic in Uyo on Tuesday, October 14.
The squad is expected to converge in Polokwane from Monday, October 6, with players flying in from their European and overseas bases.
