RUWASSA and Kwara for Kwarans Initiative Partner to Promote Hygiene and Sanitation

Kwara for Kwarans Initiative, in collaboration with Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA), has launched a sensitization program aimed at promoting hygiene and safe sanitation practices at Oja Tuntun Ilorin, Kwara state.

The “Say No to Open Defecation” campaign features presentations on promoting hygiene, ensuring safe sanitation, and building a better community.

Amb. Anjorin Samuel Babatunde, Convener of Kwara for Kwarans Initiative, delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in achieving a cleaner and healthier environment, he appreciated Kwara State Government, The Rural Water Supply Sanitation Agency [RUWASSA] and The Majority Leader of Kwara State House of Assembly Hon.Barr Oba Mogaji for their love for Kwarans, especially the Oja Tuntun Market.

RUWASA General Manager, Chief Olorunfemi Oladipo, appreciated the Kwara State government and Kwara for Kwarans Initiative for their support, emphasizing that government efforts can be amplified with community involvement.

Kwara State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the well-being of Kwarans, highlighting their achievements and support for initiatives like Kwara for Kwarans.

The Kwara State House Leader, Hon.Barr Oba Mogaji ably represented by Hon Kale Jimoh lauded The people’s Governor, His Excellency Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq ably represented by Hon Commissioner for Water Resources, he said assured Oja Tun-Tun Market of more Projects, Programmes and Policies that will benefit them, he appeal to them to support Government too by doing things duly, Government can give toilets and water but we have to ensure we manage them well.

The event featured presentations from experts, including H.O.D Sanitation Mr. Olalekan Rufai who educated them about hygiene and sanitation.

SDGS representative, Mr. Damilola Adebayo, participated in the event, reaffirming their commitment to supporting initiatives that promote public health and well-being.
