OFFICIAL UNVEILING OF THE PROGRESSIVE ELITES MOVEMENT (PEM) – KWARA CENTRAL

A New Dawn for Youth, Elite Mobilization, and Progressive Political Engagement in Kwara Central

The political landscape of Kwara Central witnessed a significant development on 25th September, 2026, with the official unveiling of the Progressive Elites Movement (PEM) – Kwara Central, a vibrant and forward-looking political support group established to mobilize, unite, and empower progressive-minded youths, professionals, community leaders, and stakeholders across the senatorial district.

The Movement is led by Mallam Ibraheem Magaji, a young progressive leader and son of the late Honourable Olawoyin Magaji and the current House Leader, Honourable Barrister Abdulkadir Oba Magaji.

Both are respected political figures widely remembered for their grassroots political influence, commitment to public service, and enduring contributions to the development of Kwara State.

Drawing inspiration from the legacy of service and leadership left behind by his father, Mallam Ibraheem Magaji has brought together a network of energetic, visionary, and like-minded individuals committed to promoting progressive ideals and strengthening political participation among the people of Kwara Central.

OUR VISION

To build a united, progressive, politically conscious, and development-oriented movement that promotes good governance, responsible leadership, youth inclusion, and sustainable development across Kwara State.

OUR MISSION

To mobilize, educate, sensitize, and empower youths, elites, women, students, artisans, professionals, and grassroots stakeholders across the four Local Government Areas of Kwara Central—Ilorin West, Ilorin East, Ilorin South, and Asa—towards active political participation, civic responsibility, and support for credible, visionary, and people-oriented leadership.

The Movement is committed to promoting the leadership ideals and political aspirations of Honourable Saliu Yakubu Danladi, His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Sardauna of the Ilorin Emirate), Barrister Oba Abdulkadir Magaji, Honourable Mukhtar Tolani Shagaya, and Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo while fostering greater political awareness and strengthening progressive structures across Kwara Central and beyond.

OUR STAND

The Progressive Elites Movement (PEM) was established as a formidable support platform for five (5) distinguished leaders whose contributions continue to inspire confidence among the people of Kwara State:

1. Honourable Saliu Yakubu Danladi (SYD)

The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, whose youthful, purposeful, and people-centered leadership has earned him recognition as one of the most influential voices of the younger generation in Kwara politics.

His commitment to legislative excellence, youth empowerment, inclusiveness, and democratic development continues to inspire many across the state.

2. His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq

The Executive Governor of Kwara State, whose administration has been associated with various developmental initiatives across key sectors of the state.

As a prominent progressive leader and a prospective aspirant for the Kwara Central Senatorial District, his leadership, commitment to governance, infrastructural development, human capital advancement, and grassroots engagement continue to attract support from many stakeholders across Kwara State.

3. Barrister Oba Abdulkadir Magaji

The House Leader of the Kwara State House of Assembly, widely respected for his legislative capacity, unwavering loyalty to the progressive cause, and dedication to the advancement of Kwara Central.

His commitment to quality representation, community development, and effective lawmaking has positioned him as a dependable leader and advocate for the people.

4. Honourable Mukhtar Tolani Shagaya

A respected public servant and prominent progressive stakeholder whose contributions to youth empowerment, community development, and human capital advancement have continued to earn him admiration across Kwara State.

His commitment to service, leadership, and the welfare of the people reflects the ideals of progressive governance and inclusive development.

5. Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo

A distinguished engineer, grassroots mobilizer, and progressive leader known for his commitment to community development, youth engagement, and socio-economic advancement.

His dedication to empowering people, promoting development-oriented initiatives, and strengthening progressive structures has made him a respected figure among many stakeholders across Kwara State.

WHY PEM?

The Progressive Elites Movement firmly believes that Honourable Saliu Yakubu Danladi (SYD), His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Barrister Oba Abdulkadir Magaji, Honourable Mukhtar Tolani Shagaya, and Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo represent progressive leadership, competence, accessibility, loyalty, and service to humanity.
