The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ilorin West Local Government Area has debunked claims that its party structure is being negotiated or collapsed into the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the indefinite suspension of three members over alleged impersonation, anti-party activities and financial misconduct.
The affected members are Mr. Kayode Agbo, Mr. Fatai Onimago and Mr. Imam Fulani Olarongbe.
Their suspension was contained in an official statement jointly signed by the ADC Chairman in Ilorin West, Alhaji Saheed Olarewaju Ajadi, and the Local Government Secretary, Mallam Abdulwaheed Jaigbade, following an emergency executive committee meeting held at the party secretariat in Ilorin.

Debunking the claims, Ajadi said the ADC leadership at the local government level had not authorised any political alignment, merger or negotiation with the ruling APC or any other political party.
According to him, the decision to suspend the three members followed investigative reports and petitions from party members alleging that they had presented themselves as official bargaining agents of the ADC without authorisation from the Ward, Local Government or State leadership.
The Chairman further alleged that the three members held meetings with opposition figures and collected cash inducements under the purported pretext of weakening or dismantling the ADC structure in Ilorin West.
Ajadi said the alleged use of the party’s name, logo and political standing for personal financial gain had caused confusion among party members and brought the party into public disrepute.
The party leadership said the alleged conduct violated Article 22, Sections (a), (b), (d) and (h) of the ADC Constitution (2022, as amended), which prohibit anti-party activities, gross misconduct and actions capable of undermining the stability of the party.
Under the suspension order, Agbo, Onimago and Olarongbe are barred with immediate effect from presenting themselves as representatives of the ADC, attending party meetings or conducting administrative business on behalf of the party at any level.
Ajadi said the affected members had been referred to the ADC Disciplinary Committee to respond to the allegations against them. He added that failure to honour the committee’s invitation would be treated as an admission of guilt and could lead to their expulsion.
He reassured party members and the public that the ADC in Ilorin West remains intact and committed to pursuing its political objectives.
