Ilorin, Kwara State, the city witnessed a remarkable gathering of young storytellers and digital talents on Thursday as over 1,500 creatives participated in the Lens4Good Creative Workshop, a two-day training program organized by Lens4Good in collaboration with Kwara Creatives.
The workshop, which focuses on Photography, Videography and Content Creation, brought together emerging storytellers, photographers, videographers, and digital creators from across Kwara State for intensive learning, networking, and mentorship.
Participants had the rare opportunity to learn directly from some of Nigeria’s most respected visual storytellers and industry professionals, gaining practical insights into modern storytelling, visual documentation, and creative entrepreneurship.
Speaking on the significance of the program, Habeeb Shuaib Ishowo, founder of Kwara Creatives, described the initiative as a major step toward strengthening the creative ecosystem in the state.
According to him, the massive turnout reflects the growing interest among young people in Kwara to build careers in the creative industry.
“What we witnessed today shows that the creative energy in Kwara State is real. Over 1,500 young creatives gathered not just to attend a program, but to learn, connect, and position themselves for global opportunities. Programs like this are very important because they provide training, access, and empowerment for creatives who are ready to grow,” he said.
Also speaking at the event, Hon. Ibrahim Abdullateef, Senior Adviser on Communication to the Kwara State Governor, commended the initiative and highlighted the importance of investing in the creative industry as a pathway for youth development and economic growth in the state.
“Programs like this are very important because they give young creatives the opportunity to learn, connect with industry professionals, and position themselves for bigger opportunities. The creative industry is a powerful platform for youth empowerment and development,” he said.
Also speaking, Chiamaka , a representative of Lens4Good, expressed excitement about the level of participation and enthusiasm displayed by creatives in the state.
“Lens4Good is committed to empowering visual storytellers across Nigeria. The response we have seen in Kwara State is inspiring, and it shows that there is a strong community of creatives here ready to learn, collaborate, and share powerful stories with the world,” she stated.
The workshop features masterclasses, practical sessions, and breakout classes designed to equip participants with industry-relevant skills while also creating opportunities for mentorship and collaboration.
Organizers also revealed that outstanding participants from the program will have access to creative grants, professional equipment, and other opportunities aimed at supporting their growth in the industry.
The training continues today Friday, March 6, 2026, with more sessions focused on practical learning and storytelling development.
