Cypherdevs Technologies and Meadow Community and Development Outreach (MCDO) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Kwara State Ministry of Education to advance students’ participation in the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI), positioning the state as a hub for emerging digital talent.
The partnership was disclosed following a formal engagement with the Ministry, during which both organizations sought institutional support to grant access to public and private secondary schools across Kwara State for the national selection process of the prestigious global competition.
Cypherdevs Technologies, a leading Education Technology (EdTech) firm, is Nigeria’s first officially accredited Country and Territory Coordinator for the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI).
The organization is mandated to design and implement a transparent national framework to identify, train, and prepare outstanding Nigerian students to compete on the global AI stage.
Speaking on the initiative, Cypherdevs highlighted its commitment to bridging the digital divide through high-impact STEM and ICT interventions.

The organization has delivered digital skills training to thousands of students nationwide through flagship programmes such as KidsCanCode, Tech Titans, and its alignment with the Federal Government’s 3MTT and IDEAS initiatives.
The IOAI is a highly competitive international science olympiad for secondary school students, focused on advanced artificial intelligence domains including Machine Learning and Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Robotics, and AI Ethics. Participation places students at the forefront of global technological innovation and research.
As part of the proposed collaboration, Cypherdevs and MCDO outlined key areas of partnership with the Ministry, including granting statewide access for students in both public and private schools to participate in the national AI selection process; co-hosting sensitization and awareness workshops for school administrators and educators on AI education; and exploring curriculum alignment opportunities to ensure IOAI training complements the Ministry’s existing STEM and ICT development goals.
In his response, the Kwara State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, welcomed the initiative and commended MCDO and Cypherdevs for bringing a global opportunity to the state.
He assured the organization that the Ministry would carefully review the outlined requirements and work towards providing the necessary support to enable broad student participation.
The partnership is expected to open new pathways for Kwara students to access world-class AI education, strengthen the state’s digital transformation agenda, and position Nigeria more competitively in the global artificial intelligence ecosystem.
