The Nigerian Communications Commission has been named one of the top three government agencies in Nigeria for website quality in 2025. This achievement comes shortly after the agency was recognized as one of the top five best performing government bodies earlier this year.
In a report shared on Wednesday by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, the NCC took second place. Galaxy Backbone Limited came in first while the Nigeria Export Promotion Council took third place. The official awards were handed out on Tuesday.
To decide the winners, the Bureau checked 235 different agencies using 14 specific rules. They looked at how fast the websites load, how safe they are, and how easy they are to use on phones and computers. They also checked if the information on the sites was helpful and matched what the government is trying to do.
This award shows that the NCC is using new ideas to make sure Nigerians can easily find data and information online.
Award Presentation Abraham Oshadami received the award for the NCC. He said the award encourages the agency to do even better. He explained that they are dedicated to keeping a high quality website that makes it easier for citizens to get services online. He also mentioned that this helps the government reach its goal of making it easier to do business in Nigeria.

The Shift to Digital Government This recognition happens at a time when the federal government wants all agencies to stop using paper and move everything online. Right now, 31 ministries are working digitally. The goal is for the entire civil service to be fully digital by the end of 2025.
Dasuki Arabi from the Bureau of Public Service Reforms said the rankings are meant to push agencies to provide better services. He noted that using technology is now a requirement to stay efficient and provide the best service to the public.
