The Yeyeluwa of Edeland, Mrs Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni, has pledged her full support for the 2025 Osun Military and Paramilitary Games, describing the event as a platform for discipline, fitness, and unity.
Adeleke-Sanni, who is a Governing Council member of Adeleke University and elder sister to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, gave the assurance when members of the Games’ Main Organising Committee paid her a courtesy visit in Ede.
The two-week championship, scheduled for October 15–29, will feature 12 sports including football, athletics, volleyball, table tennis, and tug of war. The event will bring together officers from military and paramilitary formations across the state.
“This is a noble project that blends the values of service, fitness, and unity,” Adeleke-Sanni said. “Sports are a powerful tool for promoting peace, teamwork, and wellness. I commend the organisers for this initiative and urge our gallant men and women in uniform to embrace it wholeheartedly.”
Organisers, led by Ace Sports and the Osun Sports Officers Association, hailed her endorsement as a huge boost for the competition. They stressed that her backing would inspire athletes, administrators, and the wider community.

One of the major highlights will be the football semifinals and finals, set to hold at the newly completed Aderemi Sanni Stadium inside Adeleke University, Ede. The facility, named after Adeleke-Sanni’s late husband, is expected to host large crowds and give added glamour to the closing stages.
With just days to the kickoff, excitement is already building for what has been billed as one of Osun’s most unifying sporting events, celebrating service, resilience, and camaraderie among the state’s uniformed men and women.
