A former Ekiti Local Government Area chairmanship aspirant and media entrepreneur, Ambassador Anjorin, has warned the Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, that internal division could cost the party victory in upcoming elections if not resolved urgently.
Speaking to journalists on Monday, June 15, 2026, at his office in Ilorin, Anjorin, described as a young political grassroots mobilizer and media boss, urged APC stakeholders across the state to close ranks and prioritize party unity over personal interests.
Anjorin drew lessons from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, experience in Kwara South, arguing that the opposition’s prolonged internal crisis directly led to its weakened political position in the senatorial district.
“We may lose this election if we remain divided,” he told pressmen. “The internal crisis within Kwara South PDP is the reason the party is in the position it finds itself till date. APC must not repeat that mistake. When a house is divided against itself, it cannot stand.”

He noted that political parties thrive when members subordinate personal ambitions to collective goals. According to him, the APC’s strength in Kwara since 2019 has been its ability to present a united front, but recent disagreements among blocs threaten that advantage.
The former chairmanship aspirant, who contested the Ekiti LGA chairmanship ticket in previous party primaries, said the warning was not aimed at any individual or faction but at the party as a whole. He described himself as a “grassrooter” who understands the mood at the ward and polling unit levels.
“At the grassroots, party members are watching us. They want to see unity, not press statements and counter-statements,” Anjorin said. “If we continue with this inter-crisis, our opponents will capitalize on it. Election is not won on social media alone. It is won by coordinated, united foot soldiers.”
He called on party leaders, elders, and stakeholders to initiate genuine reconciliation talks that address grievances without victimization. Anjorin specifically appealed to youth and women leaders within the APC to act as bridge-builders in their communities.
The Kwara APC has faced periodic internal tensions since the 2019 “Otoge” movement that ended decades of Saraki dynasty dominance. Factions have emerged around different political interests, with disagreements surfacing from lasr party congresses.
Political observers note that the APC’s dominance in Kwara has been tested in recent by-elections and local government polls, where opposition parties have made gains in some wards. The party is expected to face competitive contests in the next general elections, making internal cohesion critical.
Ambassador Anjorin said the media also has a role to play in promoting issue-based politics rather than amplifying divisions. As a media boss himself, he pledged that his platforms would focus on policy and development conversations within the APC.
“I am not speaking as an enemy of the party. I am speaking as a stakeholder who wants APC to remain in power and deliver dividends of democracy,” he said. “Leaders must sit down, talk, and resolve differences. The interest of Kwara people should come first.”
He urged Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, party chairman, and other top stakeholders to use their influence to mediate and rebuild trust among members. According to him, a united APC would be better positioned to defend its record and convince voters.
As of press time, Kwara APC’s state publicity secretary had not responded to Anjorin’s comments. Party insiders told Veritas News Hub that efforts were already underway to convene stakeholder meetings across the three senatorial districts to address concerns before the next round of party activities.
Civil society actors in Ilorin welcomed the call for unity, saying political stability in the ruling party affects governance delivery for all Kwarans, regardless of party affiliation.
With election timelines approaching, Anjorin’s warning adds to growing voices within Kwara APC urging reconciliation. Whether the party heeds the call will likely determine its performance at the polls.
“The choice is ours,” Anjorin concluded. “Unity gives us victory. Division gives our opponents victory. Kwara APC must choose wisely.”
